Most people know that a piano needs regular tuning to sound its best. But that’s really just the tip of the iceberg. The touch, tone, and evenness from note-to-note all contribute to the pleasure of playing your piano. Consistent piano service can help you become a better player by assuring a more uniform, higher performing instrument on which to practice. I believe in providing Full Service for all of your piano needs including Tuning, Repair, Voicing, Regulation, Restoration, and Keytop Replacement Services. As a client of Ron Kneale Piano Service, you can expect the following with each tuning service appointment:
- Inspection of all mechanical systems including pedals, trapwork, action, strings, keys and case parts
- Check/Tighten plate bolts
- Check/Tighten piano bench legs
- Check/Adjust pedals
- Pitch correct piano (if needed)
- Tune piano to A440
- Repair of minor problems i.e. sticky keys, squeaky pedals (not to exceed 10 minutes)
- Monitor/record current temperature and humidity to valuate tuning stability
- Discussion and recommendation of any additional repairs, adjustments, room environment issues, teacher recommendations or other piano work needed
- Create and/or update client maintenance record
