I first became interested in piano technology after reading an article about piano tuning in “Keyboard” magazine in 1990. Soon afterward I purchased the well known book by Larry Fine entitled “The Piano Book” and began my journey into piano technology. Using my own piano and Larry’s book, I studied the mechanical aspects of piano technology. I was amazed by how well this musical machine worked – simple, yet very complex. I knew I was hooked. I had to learn more. And years later, I began formal study of piano technology.
